Dr. Sarah Ham
Dr. Sarah Ham was born in Birmingham and grew up in Athens, AL. She attended undergrad at University of Alabama and Auburn University. She got 2 degrees from Auburn: a BS in Animal Science in 2000 and in 2006 a DVM from the College of Veterinary Medicine. Despite her deep and abiding love for Auburn University Dr. Ham has remained an Alabama fan through it all. Roll Tide!!
After graduating from vet school Dr. Ham practiced in Texas for a year and then moved to Southeastern Illinois where she worked primarily on cattle for 10 years. Having enough of the snow and looking for a change, she finally listened to her best friend, Dr. Chapman, and moved back home to the South. And she is so glad she did!
Dr. Ham is married to Jeremy Ham and they have two daughters: Dylan (born 2008) and Madeline (born 2011). They have one energetic outside dog, a red bone coonhound named Isabelle and a stealthy tabby mouser, Maddy Cat. Inside they have a feisty Siamese-cross kitten, Walter; a tabby scaredy-cat, PJ and two Texel guinea pigs: Hazel and Holly.
In her free time Dr. Ham loves to go camping with her family in their pop-up camper where they enjoy hiking, biking, canoeing and fishing. She also loves gardening, canning and reading fantasy/fiction. Dr. Ham and her girls are also very active in Girl Scouts.
Dr. Ham likes to stay active by running and hiking. She did her first mud run in Niceville this spring and had a great time! She hopes to take full advantage of the variety of 5k and fun runs offered in this area.
